SKY Publishing house was founded in 1994. During its existence, we firstly concentrated our efforts on publishing guidebooks for tourists to the mountains, so nowadays we can offer you relatively whole range of guidebooks to the Slovak mountains and the first two publications dealing with other parts of the Carpathians. This set will be enlarged by other titles in the nearest future. The first guidebook in the new array is The Romanian Mountains I, then other volumes will follow, Carpatho-Ukraine and others.The book production is somewhat slower becouse we verify all information in the field and we undergo all described hikes fully equipped. There are some inaccuracies and discrepancies in older maps and publications after all. And we emphasize accuracy and currentness of our guidebooks at most. Nowadays we have already been preparing the second publication of the new edition in the mountains of the Balkans and Russia. The first publication of this new array was the guidebook Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro.

Apart from the guidebooks we have also published other books, a calendar and at present we issue Treking journal that celebrates the 12th anniversary of its existence this year. After the echange of the publisher, it also passed through important changes, we can mention e.g. the extent, periodicity and or graphic layout. And also the name has changed. The name of Treking has been appearing in the head only the second year. It has replaced the original name of Tourism and Mountains (Turistika a hory) which remain only in the subtitle today.

Apart from publishing activities, we have been preparing popular meetings with the editors on the mountaintops where you can meet the authors of the magazine (journal) and which are connected with active motions in the open air, evevnings with slide projection from our trips and expeditions and many other events.
